David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO) won 3-1 over Peter Loudon (Perth, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Championships, held February 28 - March 5, 2006 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Murdoch won 4-2 over Gordon Muirhead (Pitlochry, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2006 Scottish Championships in Perth, Scotland;
 
Murdoch finished 6-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murdoch defeated David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO) 6-5, then went on to lose 8-4 against Alan Smith (Galleon, SCO). Murdoch responded with a 5-1 win over Graham Shaw (Perth, SCO). Murdoch won 11-5 against Loudon, then won 4-3 against Muirhead and 9-6 against Brian Binnie (Forfar, SCO). Murdoch went on to lose 6-4 against Logan Gray (Forest Hills, SCO). Murdoch lost 6-1 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) where Murdoch responded with a 8-5 win over Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Murdoch did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Murdoch ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
