yep. expensive. got thru interview and was accepted - but flights/visa. Didn't want to sell my house to go. Disappointed but focusing on Pyeong Chang now. Getting to do The Roar.

Girls having a really poor start. two of their first 3 games have been blow outs.

they better get it together soon because with tough games to come against japan, the united states and the czech republic they really cant afford to have any more off days

I fear little Corryn Brown, the 17 yr old skip of Team Canada isn't in a good place right now. Yes, two blowouts and Brown looked so good in dispatching a burgeoning Canadian superstar in Manitoba's Shannon Birchard at the Cdn Juniors. Of course, Brown could have just come up huge for Birchard and now has settled into regular curling, which is probably not good enough at the world level.

Birchard would have been a better rep cuz she's more mature and knows a couple losses are just part of the deal. Shannon may not be as spectacular a curler as Corryn but she's steady as she goes - exactly what you need at this level.

Matt the Hat had control of the tenacious scots this a.m. but let them off the hook - Scotland scoring a deuce in 10 to tie and then stealing the W from The Hat in an extra.

Im sure Corryn knows that a couple losses are part of the deal. She's had a really good attitude in interviews. It was a horrible way to lose the game yesterday(on a measure) to scotland and she wasnt in a great position today, going into a match against a russian side that was already 1-2 and desperate im sure to get back to 500 on home ice.

If she loses to japan tommorrow she's probably out if it.

I should have said Moscow not sochi (but websites are showing much the same and no indication sochi is more).
My flight with a layover at Heathrow was about 12-13 hrs. Flight price was included in tour price but I think Sochi is likely between $1500 and $2000.
Anyone going to Sochi might ck out Turkish air because Istanbul seems much closer to Sochi than moscow is.

girls 0-4 now...not really sure what to say here

I dont think anyone could have seen this coming. They arent technically out of it yet but its hard to see them getting anything...and its really hard to see them going on some kind of magical run here since 2 of their losses have been blow outs

I think the men are doing okay. however their 2 losses have come against teams that are either above them or equal with them on wins and losses.
