Personally I think curlers have the opportunity to be creative with PG-rated cursing, ala Orbit gum commercial ("Son of a biscuit eating bulldog!")
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEJJUGJZxpU
No need to mute them, and they can use their sport psychology training to get the same effect from actual R/X-rated curse words, without offending anyone, and probably while getting some new fans too.

Really enjoy Sportsnet's curling coverage. For one, they show the draw to the button results. Hammer in the first end is important, even moreso in 8end game and that shot must be shown. Hopefully TSN follows suit but it might cut into Vic's 30 year old routine. The announcers are just far superior to TSN in both knowledge of the strategy and the little things but they also have a sense of humor which makes for more entertainment. My one complaint is draws like last night where they are jumping from game to game and showing the last few rocks on each sheet. I prefer to see the entire end, how it was built up, who made the critical shot, who missed one. And leads and seconds deserve some airtime, front ends are people too!!!

I totally agree re the "around the rings" coverage. I have tried to embrace it but find it frustrating. Maybe for the semis it is ok as there are 2 women's and men's games at the same time. But for the quarters when all 4 sheets are the same gender, just pick one game to focus on and viewers will deal with it. What is most frustrating is when the featured game will have a timeout and then you see for a long long time them discussing it and face close ups and whatever. Then please switch to another sheet where we can see a critical shot being played.
I enjoyed Ben's commentating and analysis with McKusker today. His honesty when discussing the top talents in the game was refreshing. And it was nice to hear from him that for Canada it has to be "gold or nothing" Those days are gone when we are competing against full time pros. Depth of talent alone will not cut it.

Looks like Tracy is really intimidated by Haaselborg. Silly misses all around. Maybe coach Sheri or 5th Chelsea should have flown in. They were there in Oakville.

Can someone explain the percentages to me? After 4 ends they have Fleury at 84%. In the first she had a draw for 2 and missed. In the end where she gave up 4 she wrecked on her last. So the best she could be is 6/8 which is 75%.

Not so sure Tracy is intimidated by Hasselborg; in the previous three meetings, it's been Tracy that's defeated them.
I too enjoyed Ben's commentary and like how confident he feels about his team, too. His insight was refreshing. Apparently did work to promote it in Chestermere. Good on 'im!

Even for those of us that watch from home, when you miss a called shot,ZERO! Terrible scoring to make “us” think they’re playing well. Good lord, trying to make the viewers “think” it’s good curling is fraudulent. Shame. Bad shots are bad shots. Instead of pretending it was ok, or saying something stupid like that’s not the outcome they were looking for, say that was a terrible call and a terrible shot.......and that’s why they lost. No balls, including Joan. All about appeasing the viewers. Give me a break. Is it just me?
Here Endeth the recent rant. Sorry.

Don’t you know they don’t miss. Although, there are plenty of picks, fudging in the slide path, fresh pebble, gripper marks etc. The ice conditions just aren’t fair to the curlers.
