Scottish Women Mixing it Up

Rebecca Morrison has a pretty good team with Lauren Gray and and Jennifer Dodds throwing before her, and Mili Smith a long-time curling companion there for chemistry. I don't know why they got the name GB-Red in their byline, but they took out Sweden's Wrana in the Euro Super Series. Someone is consipicuously absent or maybe it is just the GB Curling federation mixing things up. It is good to see another Scottish Skipper pushing through for the win. The Olympics are just around the corner and I'm not sure who is representing the Scottish women. Is Eve still in the mix? Or is Rebecca, with the heavy weight veterans being considered? Who knows the inside scoop here?

They are running a 9-player squad to find 5 players for the Olympic team. They will be mixing and matching lineups much like they did ahead of the 2006 Olympics with the men's teams.

It has been a struggle for Scotland to find the right lineup in front of Eve since Anna Sloan retired and now they're going to experiment for a couple of months and see what is possible.

Eve was skipping the GB Blue squad in this event. They had a 5-0 record in the round robin, beating Tirinzoni, Wrana, and three other Scottish teams. They lost in the semifinal on the last stone in a rematch with Wrana.

Scotland are sending their women to Russia right now for the next event, and I gather they will be shuffling the line-ups again for this one, and plan to keep doing so until they think they've found the best chemistry.

Canada needs to be sending their top teams to Europe to play. Tired of hearing about it’s hard on the families- want to go to the Olympics? You have to sacrifice.
