Dekalb Super League

The Dekalb Super League is looking for a few more teams to fill its 10 team roster. The league, sponsored by Monsanto, operates out of the Pembina Valley area (Morris to Portage). Entry fee is $1200. Prize money is $200 per win, and everyone makes the playoffs which pay between $200 to $3000 depending on where you finish.

If you are interested in putting in a team, email Kyle MacNair at macnairk@mts.net.

Dang, I wish I still had a good left knee. I really enjoyed my few years in the Dekalb League. I learned so much, met so many nice people that were also superior curlers and had lots of fun nights.

This is a great league for up 'n coming teams.

Juniors with a good track record and ability to compete for the Manitoba title.

Younger stars with track record of competing at cash spiels and/or provincial championships.

Younger seniors (48 to 55) who know all the shots, just don't have the stamina or energy of the younger players - get by on pure guile and craftiness.

Mobility for travel is essential as the DeKalb event floats between several clubs - just like the old Westman Super League I used to cover way back when - even remember some of the great legends of the West(man);
Brian Moffat, Keith Kyle, Ted Bridgett, Professor Neil Andrews, Frank "Robin Hood" Gudz, Mel Logan, Murray Nye, Kelly Robertson, Rolly Ray Smart, Johnny Csversko, Woody Wood, Dana Carvey, Don Pottinger, Ed McEwen, Roy Kelly, Doug Armour, many more . . . . ! ! !
