2022 Champions Cup
Since it is starting. Here's a couple of things I found out.
Tyler Tardi is the third for Team Gunnlaugson instead of Adam Casey
Ross Whyte is playing third for team Mouat instead of Grant Hardie has been mentioned.

I want to see Tirinzoni wins this one before the team breaks up.
Men's final is probably going to be Mouat vs Edin again, but Hardie is not playing, and who knows what's going on with Sundgren's groin, so maybe it would be a Canadian team winning this one.

Any word on why Hardie isn’t playing…Mouat relies on him pretty heavily

I won’t speculate on exactly what’s going on with Hardie but he’s been intermittently absent since the Olympics finished.
There was a meet and greet session with the Olympic teams towards the end of the Scottish championships in Dumfries, Hardie apparently wasn’t present for that. He also then missed the Scottish MD championships which he was due to play with Vicky Wright, so her fiancée Greg Drummond stepped in to play with her.
He then returned for the players championship last month but evidently is absent again this week.
Whatever is going on, it goes without saying that we hope everything is okay and send our best wishes. I’m sure that team Mouat will be absolutely fine with a very capable stand-in Ross Whyte.

Whoever updates the results should edit the Homan-Fleury game. Homan won 6-4, thus are 1-0 and Fleury 0-1 in the standings.
And on that editing note, I was looking at the Dupont-Jones head to head, and it says they played in the 2000 Worlds, which, well, did not happen lol. It was 2005.

Good point. It could something like work or school commitments. I don’t think all of them are full time curlers

We’ll have to go on Facebook to tell Gerry to fix this…

Grant hasn't been in school for years, but yes, it seems like prior commitments. Not everything has to be this big suspect thing, I don't know why people get so concerned over an absent player (who in Grant's case, was never attending the Champions Cup this year, fyi.)

I can't blame Grant if he wanted to go on his break early. Been a long season, they started their season way back late August. Golfing weather now!

I've long since stopped thinking of JD Lind as an athlete but...damn, he can still go on the ice too!

Homan's games this week really sum up her entire season.

Homan is 2-1 tight now. Heading for the playoffs probably.

I issued the first end Jacobs epping. Did they say where Matt camm is or why he’s not there?

That’s so sad. Always feel for the players that have to miss. Maybe they could have picked up a local AB? Moulding?

Had to hop over to jeopardy. Spoiler alert Mattea was losing badly until final jeopardy. I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t watched yet with the time zones. Go Canada Go.

Heaven help whatever team ends up with Hebert. Fbombs galore. 2 tonight already. Always negative. Except when he throws an in turn. Most players say good try. Weight was right. yadayada. No. He says f this f that missed that fn shot. What’s it like to be perfect? Not. Especially sweeping and weight calls. How many times have we heard Benny Nooooo. Over swept...again.
Good luck next team.

Team Mouat not at their best this week. Not sure if it’s a combination on being tired from a long season, Bobby Lammie being tired from the world MD, and Hardie not being there (no offence to Ross Whyte, but Hardie is one of the best thirds in the world)

Yeah, some helpful advice.
Maybe best not to encourage Curlingzone visitors to LEAVE THIS SITE!
That is not going to endear you to the site owners.

Official scoreboard reports that Korey Dropkin committed a hog line violation in the 6th end of the untelevised Draw 2 game against Brendan Bottcher (who stole 2 points).
https://thegrandslamofcurling.com/e..._line_violation
Does anyone know what happened? No electronic handles in GSOC, I don't think, and no hog line officials either. Probably no slow motion replay since TV crew probably hadn't even fully set up yet. So how did they determine that there was a violation?

Another curler likely reported it…
