Teams:

So many familiar names that may or may not also be familial. I know that Sam and Delaney Strouse are siblings. Not sure about Kim and Xenia Schwaller. Is Katie McMillan related to Hammy? Is Moa Dryburgh related to James? Is Natalie Wiksten related to Kasper?

Wikipedia does say that Karolina Jensen is the daughter of Angelina.

Axel Landelius beat Niklas Edin on his way to win Swedish Nationals. Surely he must be the favorite?

I don't know.von the men's side Benjamin Kapp looks like a strong contender as does James Craik of Scotland.

O don't know any of the women's teams enough to say anything about them.

Canada/Manitoba swept the gold medals last time (2020). It would be interesting to see how Canada will do this time.

Personally I would like to see another country win gold, and maybe even no medals at all for Canada, to pile on the pressure to fix all the broken things.

Or maybe Canadians don't care because it's May already.

I just checked Recast and they're going to have Light Coverage for this event as well. Can't confirm if it will be for all 5 sheets of every session, but that's what they did for World Mixed Doubles, so I don't see a reason why they can't do it for this event unless internet bandwidth is an issue or something stupid like that.

Also to note Anthony Petoud who will join team Brunner (aka the former team Schwaller) next season is skipping the Swiss team.

Japan's girls team is skipped by their lead. I've never seen that before.

Margaretha Sigfridsson (SWE) won (among other things) an Olympic silver medal (2014) by skipping at lead.

Kerry Galusha also skips Team Northwest Territories at lead all the way to historic playoff at 2022 Scotties.

Canada finished Day 1 at 0W-3L overall (0W-2L for men's and 0W-1L for women's).

No other country has combined 3 losses after Day 1.

Japan's third Eri Ogihara is also the "lost" member of Team Fujisawa, as she was brought along to be the alternate at the ill-fated 2020 Worlds.
