Thorger Nergård is replacing Steffen Walstad on Team Ulsrud. Markus Høiberg and Magnus Vågberg stay as the front end.

new Team Sinclair

Jamie Sinclair has just announced her new team line-up for the next season on her social media accounts. (This is still under the US HPP.)

Lead: Elizabeth Cousins
Second: Cora Farrell
Third: Monica Walker
Skip: Jamie Sinclair

(or at least, that's the order they're listed in.. suppose that could still shuffle)

Interesting team for Sinclair

Two from the 2020 junior champions I think...could be a good future USA team.

I noticed that Walker played lead in her championship events with Sinclair. I wonder what position Cousins and Farrell have played.

Cousins played fourth for Traxler at the 2020 Nationals. They had an epic tournament, started 0-3, bought plane tickets to go home early, went undefeated the rest of their way to the playoff. Lost to Sinclair for bronze. Games are online at Team USA website.

Monica Walker skipped against Jennifer Jones, and had the most epic blank against 4.

Farrell played skip on junior HPP teams and won bronze at 2018 women’s nationals. Believe she skipped and threw second last year. Farrell rink lost the junior nationals final in extra end to Strouse... Also Cousins skipped junior teams before playing fourth on Traxler last year. Will be an interesting front end duo I think. Hopefully we will have a season to watch the new Team Sinclair

Gushue shared his thoughts on 5-person teams, at 39m20s.

https://www.facebook.com/2264492473...24302895560570/

Summary: he's always been "hopeful" that it should work. He thinks any top 10 player in the world can slide into any top team in the world and make it competitive. Execution hadn't proven this theory yet, although Russ Howard's 2000 team did make it to Brier final vs Greg McAulay with a 3-person rotating front-end.

Lack of "noise" will probably be just right for Jamie.

Look at how Rachel Homan occasionally gets "wrecked" by over-discussing shots, angles, outcomes. First Emma gives her 2 cents, then the timeout called, then the coach trots out that Rachel thinks is a no-mind, then Joanne & Lisa head up-ice to chirp in. By the time 2 to 4 minutes go by Rachel has 99 thoughts & 44 ideas - all of which are better.
"NOISE" - its all that its touted

I know this totally off topic of the thread, however, begrudgingly I say ML has point. Go back to the Canada junior finals homan vs lawes and the chat and time out and coach input. Google and discuss.

The middle of team Arsenault stays together. Black will skip with Jenn Baxter at 3rd, Karlee Jones and Shelley Barker complete the team. Jones and Barker have played front end wwithteam McEvoy last season.
