With Kerri Einarson (now a legitimate curling super-power) out of the way cuz she won the Scotties last year - Manitoba boils down to a 2-team race . . .
Obviously, Jennifer Jones will always be a threat until she agrees to hang 'em up but the #2 threat is the emerging junior team led by Canadian champion Mackie Zacharias w/ 3 time canadian junior champion Karlee Burgess at 3rd.
They are laying waste to all comers in Morris this weekend, just wasted Beth Peterson, another top 6 manitoba team.
Peterson & a couple of the older rounders might get hot at the right time - and end up putting up a minor threat vs. Jones or Zacharias.
The best thing for Manitoba curling fans obviously is that they'll have 2 really good teams to choose from when they go up against Autoberth Homan & Autoberth McCarville for GOLD.
There's always a decent squad emerging from Saskatchewan & Alberta plus Maryanne Arsenault is now steering Kelly Scott's old championship team of Jeanna Schraeder, Sash Carter & Rene Simmons. Maryanne in her 50s now and the other 3 ranging from 43 to 47
I'm one of the good guys now!
