Quebec Scotties canceled

Curling Quebec has cancelled pretty much every event except the Tankard and Seniors that they will try to play later if they can.

It looks like they will go through a selection process. I think only 3 teams entered playdowns this year. Guessing St-Georges will go again.

It'll have to be Elsa. She's the reigning champ and highest Quebec team on the CTRS.

BC cancelled as well. Brown in ladies probably ok but Cotter in men's doesn't seem right.

BC never cancelled men's or women's. When the December 17th PHO came out, Curl BC said they may have to postpone or cancel. They later said they would not be running them on January 4-9, but never said they were outright cancelled. Given that SK, ON, NT, and NB aren't holding their men's event until mid February, there is time to figure out a solution. There is more urgency with the women's event, as the STOH starts January 28th.

I'm going to go out on an optimistic limb. It appears with the latest Omicron variant, the symptoms are a runny nose, a cough and feeling tired.
I think by this time next month, the dread is going to be scaled back and things will mostly assume some normalcy.

And, once again, another shocker.
St. Georges named as their rep.
She still has a possibility of being named as an Olympian in mixed doubles. If her doubles team is chosen, her regular team will be allowed to still rep Quebec.
