My first instinct is, if audience doesn't have to be factored in, host it in Toronto! The TV crew is handy. Just as in Europe, nobody attends curling events in Toronto anyway. But yeah - there are more curlers out west.
Sponsorship packages will have to change. The Tier II and grassroots events sponsorship will suffer the most. Teams who can offer televised profile have that leg up.
I have been enjoying the WCF and CurlingCanada instagram takeovers - getting to know some curlers. The intimate and personal side of the players can be a new direction. Also, is there an issue with practice ice, ice time? Are these coming available soon?

Practice ice time? What curling facility is going to put in ice early for the benefit of a few elite curlers not knowing if they will be able to offer club members curling at all this year?

Does anyone think there will be interim rule changes for the game? For the pros? For the recreational?

I can see most clubs closed until further notice. Why open for 1/3 to 1/2 able to play with 100% of costs? The 2nd wave is coming, even worse for provinces still denying the first..... ON PQ .
Has anyone heard any confirmed spiel cancellations not mentioned already, excluding slams?

WCF has an annoucement tomorrow. I assume that it will be about the Men's Worlds since they tagged Curling Canada in the tweet and there wasn't an announcement of a location.

I was hoping the announcement
was that the 2020 world's were being played in covid free new Zealand in oct/nov. Men's and women's, fly in, isolate, practice, play

Ottawa will keep getting these major events as long as Melnyk keeps writing the million dollar sponsor check and Shea agrees as a red coater.

This will be played at the rink where the Ottawa 67s play, not where the Sens play. Nothing to do with Melnyk.
