That's why I said if Walker wins Alberta. Then Fleury and Homan would be the top point getters without a spot (although Carey is only 5 back of Homan, not sure how many points she would get if she was runner up in Sask).

As suggested above though, some creativity from these organizations would be nice. Getting two teams together for a weekend to play a best of 3 isn’t rocket science. Find a club with decent ice, steam the matches on YouTube, sell some ads, etc.

3/4 players registered as being on the team must be on the ice to earn points in an event. If player changes are made after a certain date points will be adjusted.

I don't think the Scotties will be delayed, it will still run in Thunder Bay on schedule. It will be no different than NHL or NBA games, just depends on if there will be spectators or not.

Surely not—there has to have been some cut-off date assigned to points being awarded for Wild Card game selection. As if this whole thing is not already ridiculous enough, how effed up would it be if Homan (with Ontario provincials cancelled and no ability to get further points) were eclipsed for Wild Card spot by Carey simply because Saskatchewan did not apply the same health safety measures. I believe there likely was a cut-off date, I just don’t know when it was.

Sorry—this should have been in reply to the post stating Carey might pass Homan in points based on SK runner-up finish. Flaxey is excellent choice for their 5th, especially with all the existing permutations and combinations being hurled around while Curl Canada sits around spinning, unwilling to make decisions.

I agree. Cut off date should be at the very least the day before the first provincial Scottie’s.......including qualifiers. Make it somewhat an even playing field. Having said that it will be interesting to see if Roque gets enough points to pass Carey based on her 3rd place finish in a higher ranked competition than Carey finishing 2nd in SK. Either way it’s a Schmozzle. If the cut off was before qualifiers Homan would be on the outside looking in.

This whole thing is a bit of a mess. I wouldn’t be surprised if they add another 2 wild card teams. In a year when half the jurisdictions aren’t even hosting provincials, might as well throw in a couple more wild cards and avoid some of these headaches.
