Pan-Continental Curling Championships

Men:

JPN - Riku Yanagisawa
KOR - Jeong Byeong-jin

Women:

JPN - Satsuki Fujisawa
KOR - Ha Seung-youn

I would assume Canada will send Einarson for the women's, but what about the men's? Gushue are the defending champs of pretty much everything but they are no longer together. I'd also think Shuster and Peterson would rep USA, but no confirmation yet...

2 questions:

Is there a Canada Cup this year and when is it? It is usually much later than the PCCC

Gushue's kept 3 of his team. I don't see why they wouldn't be allowed to go if you send Einarson. And even if you say that only 2 of the 3 are coming back, I wouldn't be shocked that they'd say that since it's 3 of the 4 of the team declared for the tournament, that it would be enough.

There's precedence that Canada can send whomever they want to WCF events. There's no requirement from WCF that the team must win something, and/or that 3 out of the 4 of that winning team must be current members.

For example, at 2018 Curling World Cup 2nd Leg (Omaha), Canada sent Jason Gunnlaugson

Curling Canada confirms that they'll send Gushue and Einarson at the Pan Continental.

A question that hopefully some one will reply too. Since the Men's Worlds are in Canada, even if Gushue does not make the top 5 (not likely I know) Canada is still guaranteed a spot correct?

Yes. However, it might create a problem for the 2024 Worlds though if they get relegated to the 2023 Pan Continental B tournament.

Relegation only happens for the teams that finish at the bottom of the standings. I don't think it's realistic for Canada's Men and Women to finish outside of Top 3, and it's even less realistic to finish so low that they get relegated (although it did just happen for the Junior Women's in 2022).

The question was already about an unrealistic finish for Canada at Pan Continental. I don't think I needed to say that it was unrealistic for Canada to be relegated.

The original question was whether or not Canada is guaranteed a spot as a host, and what would happen if Canada doesn't finish in Top 5. Your answer mentioned potential relegation. I'm just clarifying that you can finish outside of Top 5, still guaranteed a spot as a host, and not relegated next year.
