Really tough to see. I can't see it. But I'm a layperson non-curler, so I'll give these champion curlers the benefit of the doubt.

It would be nice if clear photographic evidence for hog line violation can be produced, but maybe that's asking too much.

Change settings of playback to 0.25 and you'll see it in slow motion.

Would actually be quite amusing if the RCF actually one this event.
An overhead camera still would not be conclusive evidence of a hog line violation. Some people release their hand straight up and you really can't tell if it is touching our not.

Muyres was over immo.

His argument if there was an official was that his hand was over the handle but not in contact with the handle.

Based on the game film - you could argue both ways!

Good tip. He is clearly over. Hand is still on handle when the leading edge of the rock crosses the near edge of the hog line. He is still in the middle of his release.

Rocks get hit pretty hard but seem to hang in the rings too much

Odd surface

I would like to see Canada throw a little more weight on their hits. I know the ice is straight but quite often they just want hack weight and then when they are a little light and tight not even those sweepers can hold it. That seems to me to be happening too often.

What I used to know as hack weight in the 70s & 80s has turned into back-line or even back-8 weight, where the rock is handed over to the grave-digger front ends to hold on line.
Most of Bottcher's hits don't even fully remove their targets from play!

Does anyone know of any streaming of USA/Norway game
this morning? The WCF lists the Japan/Denmark game as being streamed. Which one is a bigger game? (rhetorical)

Just like TSN covers the Canada games, WCF will cover the Japan games. They need to cater to their largest markets.

5 losses may be 7th place and out. Swiss have 4L but easy schedule and if they don't lose any that means Canada can't afford to lose to Sweden and Norway (I'm pretty sure they can handle Germany). Moulding needs to keep his composure a bit better, maybe making more shots will help.

Moulding interfering too much in what Bottcher wants to do.
Maybe time for Kennedy to be inserted for a must win game.

Making shots cures a lot of ills. Moulding needs the cure - Botch hasn't got 100% immunity either!

Great manufactured 3-spot vs. Russia Fed in the 10th to tie 7-7 and a perfect freeze by Bot in the extra but Russia somehow drew into the 12 foot and outcounted Botch's shot stone by approximately 1 inch to take the duke.

Botch & Co. now saddled with 3 losses. 4 losses should still do the trick - 5 Ls = HIGHLY UNLIKELY!@

Would it kill them to allow extra time for 9 th and 10 th end - separate from total time

Neither team had time to think in 10th and 11th - i believe both teams called a few incorrect shots ...

I have 100 channels - i can spare 10 minutes - as the other 97 channels arent worth watching imho

Also i thought cranking the commercials to loud was illegal - i usually leave the room

Re: Nikki Edin

A weakened monster is still A MONSTER . . . ! ! !

Brendan Bottcher & Hop-a-Long Moulding found that out tonite!

That said, this tourney is just about anyone's (with 5 or less losses). Canada's chances just as good as anyone else - although Edin, should he pick his game up a tad - is still the dominant monster - and Oskar is superior to Moulding.

P.S. Don't expect to see Marc Kennedy in the saddle. They lived and died with Moulding. They'll live or die with him down the stretch!

It's really hard to pick out what is more stunning. The Canadian collapse against Sweden last night or the Swiss collapse overall. They were 4-0 now 5-5 and need help. I just can't explain it

On another note its very hard not to think what could bee with Germany. They had scotland on the ropes and had makeable shots to beat Netherlands and Russia. They make those and their 6-4 and right in it right now. I know they're only 3-7 but they've impressed me. They also gave shuster all he could handle. They're young and it's clear where they need to.improve. the ability to.play the draws and hack weight shots is lacking but if they work on it and get that reliable then I think this german team has real potential. In a few years time Germany may once again be competing for medals . If they evolve and develop that area 9f their game.
