On track with the thread of curling on tv, how about the replay of Cathy O vs Jones at the Scotties in Charlottetown where 99% of the hometown crowd were cheering for Cathy O.

Then show the trials final between Gushue and Stoughton.

Maybe next week.

Must see TV.

Never tire of seeing the Koe and Homan celebrations. Koodog picked up Ben there, that was adorable.

Be nice if Ben could win something and not have to use the "F" word. Must cost him a fortune in fines.

Speaking of Cathy O I had forgot she played with Carey during the 2017/2018 season... If you had asked me. who Careys vice that year was I would have guessed Amy Nixon... So Jenny Jones fires Cathy O because she thought her chances of getting to the 2014 Olympics were better with Kaitlyn Lawes and 8 years later Cathy O almost get to a Olympics...

The 2005 mens trial final is easily found on YouTube.... In the last end if Mead doesn't miss the line call on Jeffs 1st rock do they probably go to the Olympics? They would have had to have stole in the 11 end so mathematically the odds werent good..... In the 10th Korab and Nichols each missed makeable shots perhaps nerves were getting to them.. Had jeff came back to win that game it would have been one of the greatest comebacks in curling history given he was down 6-2 after 4 ends..

On that missed line call when Jeff frantically tries to call off his sweepers that is the loudest ive ever heard Jeff... After the shot Mead is so upset he stays as far away from jeff as he can and wont make eye contact with him.. It's been said Mead was so upset and disappointed by that missed call he briefly stepped away from competitive curling

One game I cant find is the Bernard/Kleibrink 2009 trials final on YouTube... Perhaps TSN has already shown it and I missed it

The 2017 trials final between Koe and McEwen in the 9th end McEwen was down by 1 with hammer.. Where McEwen lost the game is when after the leads had thrown their rocks Mike was looking at getting 2 or 3 until Wozniaks 1st stone was light on the draw and wozniaks 2nd stone he missed badly which took away the likelihood Mike would score multiple points and he had to settle for one..

In the 10th end on mikes last 2 rocks he had to deal with the music going off during his timeout and a cameraman being in his line of vision on his 1st throw.. On Koes last draw to win the trials Laing and Hebert were pounding it the whole way and I didn't think they would get it there and Cheryl Bernard didn't either

Classic tv

Watching senators vs Boston NOT classic 2017. How can it be classic 3 years old.

Watching Habs Flyers 76, that's classic. What a game. Danny Gallivan is the definition of classic. Caught up in the paraphernalia, dumped in delicately, scintillating save....Good times.

Harken back the memories of youth.

Danny was the best hockey announcer pbp EVER. Not even a contest.

After that - a contest.

2. Doc Emrich (NBC)
3. Dan Kelly (St. Louis Blues)
4. Foster Hewitt (the original)
5. Marv Albert
6. Don Wittman (CBC)

Current crop on TSN & Sportsnet are really awful. Some don't meet the standard of awful. The female announcer from Winnipeg who got to do an NHL game was a nice novelty but her depiction was truly awful. Sounded like she was hosting a tea. (I think her name was Leah Hextall)

I'm not in Canada, so I haven't been watching any of these televised "classic" curling (I don't watch TV anyway).

Is CBC doing any replays though? Because according to Wikipedia, they had the rights from 1962 to 2011. I know that TSN and Sportsnet are replaying curling, but is even CBC doing it?

Ferbey Four and Guy Hemmings would've been CBC era, wouldn't it?

No, it's only been tsn and you might have a point. If that's the case even going back to 2012 and rebroadcasting the nedohin/scott final or holland/jones from 2013 would be great to see

Holland vs Jones was an absolute burn down the outhouse, classic curling fight.

Jones was ascending to her position as all-time best and had one of her best teams, with maximum experience at all positions.

But Holland refused to be intimidated, even with a slightly inferior group at her disposal.

They fought the superior forces of Jones tooth 'n nail.

Holland's performance that day might was one for the ages. She answered Jones' heroics with more heroics of her own.

In the end, Jones & Cathy O. clumsied up JJ's final stone in the extra end - one that was a short angle tap back raise, a high degree of difficulty shot but one Jones usually makes 9 times out of 10.

But Jones & Clapham were on distant wavelengths when the shot approached the hog. Jones thought she had the shot made - and did a small bit of pre-celebration. I'm sure she's embarrassed now when its shown on TV.

But Amber Holland, this was her day. A great day for Saskatchewan and a clear demonstrations that shows even the most needy of underdogs can come up and bite you.

VHS curling on YouTube has tons of Colleen Jones games from 1999 to 2004 and has a few games of the ferbey 4 in world championship play

Very true, Manitoba Legend, but Kaitlyn Lawes was third for Jones on that day against Holland. I believe it was her first year on the team (it was the 2011 Scotties, not 2013 as mentioned previously). Lawes raised her broom early as well, thinking the shot was made. Perhaps a little inexperience there, which is no longer present. Lawes and Jones seem to have as many opposite line calls now as Overton-Clapham and Jones had years ago.

Looking at the last couple shots again.
Holland made a remarkable draw to the button under cover, perhaps showing only 1/8th of a rock and Jones refused to even look at chipping out Amber's shot stone.
Her angle raise could not succeed on the high side and was tight to curl across the face. Upon further review I believe Jones would have made the shot if she hadn't thrown relatively hard hit weight, even if she hit the first stone in the same spot. By tossing hard weight, Jones failed to account for spin of her own intended winner - as it caromed off Holland's shot stone but spun about 20" too far. Hack weight or even solid back-ring wold have completed the shot for Jones - at least giving hear a higher margin of error.

Curling Legends has some older matches too if we're letting YouTube in the mix. Some Ferbey in there as skip, not sure if that was *THE* Ferbey 4 team though.

Was watching tsn 2013 roar between cotter 1 and jacobs 3

Jacobs lying 5 but a bit heavy on takeout and caroms jims into pot and taps his own out and jim rolls for possible shot

Jim draws and large blond with heavy hand comes out and breaks measuring stick and gets another one and ingently measures for a cotter deuce

Pretty sure it was same large blond that measured jacobs vs gushue ? With heavy hand last year where camera caught kennedy snapping [ legitimately ] and asking for a competent umpire who did the job right

Hard to believe this blond wasnt booted years ago

TSN again showing world finals from Moncton. Worst 10th end played from Canada ever.. I was
6 rows up all week far end behind that sheet and saw it all. Huge ovations for Russ Howard coaching the Swiss. Singing along with Mrs Murdoch, we'll be comin'
Down the rrrrroad.

Not sure if you see at the end like I did, as I've mentioned before, but Hebert throws his flowers on the floor behind him and puts his medal in his pocket. Disrespect to ALL.
