Homan won the 2007 Canada Winter Games with Sinclair as lead.

As a skip, Sinclair won US Nationals 3 years in a row, which is something that has never been done in history, men's or women's. Sinclair is also the first US team to win a grand slam, 2018 Players Championship.

Sinclair has said that she's committed to skipping her own team for USA, but I think she would go back to Ontario to join Homan.

//oops, I'm mistaken. Debbie McCormick won 4x in a row.

Sinclair (c)would go back to Ontario to join Homan. curlingclips

If she did, I believe the existing rules in Canada prohibit her from playing in any Curling Canadian
Championship unless she has qualified as a `bona fide` resident of a province or territory prior to September 1 of the year preceding the champion curling season.

Under these onerous circumstances, I cannot imagine Sinclair will ever get the call; nor is she probably awaiting one.

Jamie Sinclair resides in Ontario. She has temporarily resided in US here and there, but she primarily resides in Ontario. I don't know for sure, but I think she legally bought the chapel in Ontario that she personally renovated to be her home.

I don't know further details of Curling Canada's residency rules. Jamie Sinclair was born in Alaska (which is how she got USA+CAN dual citizenship).

But she did play in USA Olympic Trials in November, so if "bona fide" residency means something specific, like pledging allegiance to CurlON, then yeah, she probably didn't do that in September.

Also, for completeness, I did check that Osgoode and Manotick (the only two Ontario cities that I know are related to Sinclair) are near Ottawa, which I think confirms that we are indeed referring to Homan's Ontario (as opposed to McCarville's Northern Ontario).

I believe the rules state she must wait 2 years after representing another country before coming back to Canada, which it has. She hasn’t been to worlds since 2019. Why would she give up usoc funding to come back for potentially nothing.
The real question is who would she replace and why. How would she make the team better? At 3rd Miskew is one of the best in the world.

She would for Homan, is my guess. She wouldn't just start her own Ontario team, I don't think, but I think she would join Homan if asked.

Also, while it's possible that Homan might kick someone off her team, it's also possible that she might want a 5-person team, Miskew/Sinclair in Ontario, and Homan/Courtney/Wilkes in Alberta.

I'm not saying that this is definitely going to happen, but I think Sinclair joining Homan is a lot more probable than, say Lawes joining Homan, as some others here have suggested.

My point would be, why make any changes to the team when Miskew is by far the better player, by far the better curler, by far the PROVEN winner.

Ragale me what each have won. Please provide your usual quotes and video clips. NO comparison. The end.

Oh but what if this, and what if that? Here’s a clip...... Stop. If there’s ever a change on team Homan, it will be Miskew who decides.

Someone said that Miskew might want to start a family or something. That could mean retirement, or maybe a 5-person rotation.

Ultimately I'm just guessing, you're right about that. I try to make my guesses as educated as possible, but they're just guesses. I try not to do it too often, but it can be fun sometimes.

You asked for a link and a quote, so here's one from John Cullen:

IN-OFF_FOR 2

Correct. They indicate that a player must have not competed for any other country in any WCF competition ( at any level ) in the two previous curling seasons. Since she recently competed in the US Mixed Double Trials, one of many WCF sanctioned competitions, she would not be eligible to curl on a Canadian team for a long, long time ( i.e., September 1, 2024.)

Can you point to where it says “at any level”? I couldn’t find that when I searched. The way I read it, you had to get to a world competition for that to kick in, which she hasn’t done since 2019. I’m happy to be proved wrong…just frustrated that I couldn’t find it.

I did see her team account tweet that they’re going to compete at US Nationals in the first week of January in Cedar Rapids, though. So for now, at least, she’s still committed to the US program.

WCF does not sanction US Mixed Doubles Trial. That is a completely baseless claim that makes no sense whatsoever.

Also, good for her for sticking with her US team. She renovated a chapel to be her home, so it makes sense that she would cultivate a couple of young curling talents to their fullest potential. This is part of what appeals to her as a skip, of course, the team building/leadership aspect. I hope she succeeds.

Jamie Sinclair's multi-year chapel renovation project is a major life event, so it's something that she featured on her YouTube channel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WXcxNPuy14

I know nothing about her cars, but it makes sense to see her driving around if you life in the area.

Yes, the chapel renovation has been the star of her YouTube channel during lockdown. And as for the car, I’ve seen all the US curlers cars when I’ve been to events at Four Seasons in Blaine. Hers stood out as it was the only one with Ontario plates. And she and some teammates just happened to be getting out of it as I was pulling into the parking lot.

One year I saw Deb McCormick there with a semi truck full of curling supplies she was there to sell. That stood out too.

That's really hilarious. :D Also really nice house!

Since we're sharing stories I once sat next to Brad Gushue on a plane around 2007. Wild.

More on topic: Homan isn't competing in the Ontario cash spiel this weekend so that's two more Ontario Scotties spots she won't claim.

She is in the Dec 17 double knock out last qualifier. Lots of teams still fighting for a spot. https://on.curling.io/en/events/916...r/registrations

Not a surprise but I thought he might stay until after the Brier…I’ll speculate the replacement might be Kennedy
