Brier draw

I know I should get a life but I just took at look at this year's draw and I find it somewhat puzzling. There are two things that I have tried to understand but haven't figured out yet.
First, why does the round robin start and end with a draw completely made up of pool B? It seems to me that that means pool B games are spread over 18 draws while group A games are only over 16. That means more gaps for pool B teams and more back to back games for pool A. I know it is not a major difference but it would seem quite easy to have them the same just by switching draw 17 and 18. I know that can't be done now for this year.
The other oddity is that 8 draws are solely one pool and 10 involve both pools. Why not have them all one way or the other? As it is one team doesn't play the first two days which cannot be very comfortable or fair but I could understand if single pool draws were maintained for the whole round robin.
I also think they could tweak the draw times on Friday as there is potential for one team to play three games as happened in the Scotties but they could at least start the second game at 2 rather than 1 so they would have a little more rest.
Maybe I have too much time on my hands but it seems to me the draw could be better with a little more thought. It will be more interesting to wonder about team strategy but can't do that until the event starts.

I did a similar scrutinizing of the 2022 Olympics schedule, with 10 teams in each tournament but only 4 sheets of ice instead of 5.

It was interesting comparing people's schedule, 1 game day vs 2 game days, rest days, how many games they play alongside host country China, how many times they have do deal with freshly textured stones, etc.

It sounds like Brier schedule is even worse, which is not surprising since there's obviously a lot more moving parts.
