Changes

Making list of team changes for many reasons...eg: BJ ( certainly not for his curling) Morris won’t be back... Think Moulding might be given a thank you, but.... rumour Emma wants to start family etc.

Not quite ready for this thread yet. Give it another 8 days!

But I have to believe the clock is running on curling's greatest nomad, John Morris. Who's idea was it to move BJ back to 3rd stones?

As for Emma, all good things must come to an end. Emma & Homan were paired since childhood. I suspect Raytch might try giving it a go by moving Wilkes up to 3rd, Joe up to 2nd and re-acquiring Lisa Weagle from Jones. Depends on how far Jones gets, I suspect.

Even if Jones doesn't hit paydirt at this year's trials - she'll make every effort to nab a record 7th STOH title, this year or next. It seems her curlers are seriously committed to her, beyond just their financial contracts.

Obviously I'd like to see what Kaitlyn could do skipping her own outfit but might have to wait another year or 2 for that to occur.

Einarson might put a pin on it. After two sensational years where she made a bunch of great shots and perservered the Great Homan, Kerri is starting to falter with unexpected misses thats throwing off her entire team.
And for some unexplained reason (other than missed shots) Shannon Birchard is not longer the world's best 2nd. If Einarson finishes up the track in the Trials and fails to secure a 3rd straight Scotties title I think Birchard & Meilleur may start a team on their own.

The one name that could make a difference at 3rd on a variety of solid women's teams is Selena Njegovan - but she now has far more than just an outside chance of going to the Olympics. She's got a good chance.

Right now, the 2 best women's teams at the Trials are Fleury & Jones. If they continue to curl like they've been curling - they'll both be in the FINAL 3, perhaps joined by a darkhorse (McCarville, Walker) . . . . although one can never cross the name R. Homan off the list. YET.

Could see Bottcher making a play for Matty Dunstone - if he decides to replace Darren Moulding at 3rd.

Lots of drama now with the unusual news re: Braeden Moskowy.

With the struggles they've had a team I could see being changes made to them is Ross Paterson's, not sure if their governing body will change things given this season's record or not.

Have heard JMo was only going to stay with the team for two seasons, not sure if they decided to extend the stay or stay the same (two season). If they do get someone else, I'd be curious as to who they would get. Haven't heard of BJ leaving.

Changes

We have been having this discussion at our club for a few weeks. After this year every team will need another 4 year commitment. I don't see JJ doing that. I think she may be done. If that's so I see Dawn leaving. Rachel and Emma I think split as well. I see less changes on the mens side but maybe BJ goes back to Manitoba. Will be interesting to see.

How 'bout BJ & Dunstone forming an alliance?

Surely L Weagle is not going back to play with Homan. I know she seems to be getting her justice this week but how could you ever commit to someone after what happened mid-cycle last time (right or wrong)? The problem Homan has is that she needs to find her game as much as anyone else.

Is there any team that doesn't split up? I think some choices like Dunstone could stay together (depending on what's happening behind the scenes). Then there's Gushue. They've got everything, it's clearly still working but...when does Gallant form his own team? He's 31 now. Though good luck finding a better team if he intends to stay out East. Meanwhile Koe can seemingly play with two brooms and a gripper and win a Brier.
