That would not have been sufficient to rule a hog line violation, in my understanding of the rules. The offender must also admit to the violation.
It's also my understanding that the general sentiment in the slam is to be super lenient about hog line violation. That's why they don't have electronic handles or hog line officials in the first place, because most slammers don't care if you're an inch over!
Chelsea Carey: “They don’t have those sensors for the Grand Slams and no one really cares. Unless someone is being egregious, sliding halfway down the sheet with a rock in their hand, I don’t think it’s gonna be a problem. We care about it a lot less than people seem to think we would.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oA31IiyEWLE&t=2m35s
So what the heck happened with Dropkin? It must've been egregious for it to be ruled as a hog line violation in the slams!

What if there are two teams tied in win/loss record? What's the tiebreaker rule, H2H or DSC?

They play tiebreaker games. It's part of the schedule in this event.
https://thegrandslamofcurling.com/e.../draw-schedule/
"Saturday, May 7, 12 p.m. Tiebreakers (if necessary)"
The slams do LSD very differently than WCF (1 draw, no triangulation), and I don't think they even have a concept of a DSC.

Yeah, some helpful advice.
Maybe best not to encourage Curlingzone visitors to LEAVE THIS SITE!
That is not going to endear you to the site owners.
That concept would go way over their head. Best to just ignore them, like many already do.
And yes, suggesting a curling fan check multiple sites when they could just go directly to curlingzone is not the way to bring appeal to this site, which should be where most go for everything curling related...

Yes this tournament follows the seldom-used Quidditch rules.
So there's a snitch.

I myself prefer using the GSOC page for scores as they are more accurate and also show th vs like percentage etc

Online scoring
Also, CZ score updates are generally updated by on site local volunteers. Saying that, Gerry is usually on site for the slams. Many times the scores are reversed but give them a break, they’re just trying to help. I remember a few years ago at the spiel at Charlevoix 1/3 of the scores were wrong, eventually corrected, but confirmed later after the games
Team with hammer vs team red or team yellow. Lost in translation. Go with the flow. No biggie.
Like to see Team Homan win to get to the playoffs

I take back what I said about GSOC having no concept of DSC. Apparently they do.
https://thegrandslamofcurling.com/k...cup-semifinals/
"Team Koe wrapped up pool play with a 4-1 record and earned the bye to the final four based on draw-to-the-button shootout scores."
https://thegrandslamofcurling.com/h...-champions-cup/
"Although all five teams finished with identical 3-2 records, Einarson and Kim had the lowest draw-to-the-button shootout scores and will play off for the final berth to keep their season alive."
I thought GSOC rejected the very idea of ranking teams based on what is basically a button drawing contest, but apparently I'm wrong. Even GSOC use DSC.

More accurate is true, but official sources still make mistakes too. Right now they listed Seol ye-ji as third for Team Gim vs Team Einarson pool game.
https://thegrandslamofcurling.com/e...2c-f8fbc2143117
That's incorrect. Team Gim is a 5-person team, and throwing third in this game was Kim Min-ji, who left her own team and joined Team Gim in one of the most bombastic recent announcements coming out of Korea (the silver and bronze medalist skips from the last national championship got together to try to beat the gold medalist Kim Eun-jung).

Gotta start betting on curling. Outside of Mouat not making playoffs everything was predictable.

Kim Min-ji has now reached GSOC finals twice. She's only 22, but has represented KOR in WCF-sanctioned events 14 times, in both 4-person and mixed doubles disciplines, winning 8 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze).
I predict that she's a future super star in curling, and will probably be bigger than Stefania Constantini by 2026 Olympics.

Good luck next team.
You are seriously clutching your pearls over Ben dropping f bombs? Pretty sure Bottcher has curled against him enough times to know that’s a part of who Ben is. Doubt it would be a deal breaker for having him join their team.

Initially I thought this was a ridiculous prediction, but then I remember that she's from Korea, where coaches are notoriously abusive towards their athletes.
I hope you hailstone are wrong in this one, not because I have anything against you hailstone, but for the sake of Kim Min-ji.

Their previous coaches were fired.

The problem of abusive coaches in Korea is systemic. It doesn't go away because a few people were fired.
https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2019...-comes-forward/
"Experts say abusive treatment of female athletes has long been a problem in South Korean elite sports, which are often run by men. Athletes must live in dormitories, where coaches often exercise overbearing control, and they skip school from a young age in order to perform well at athletic events, leaving them with less education and career choices, which makes it harder for them to resist unjust treatment, critics say."

Harris had some interesting comments on the new Koe and Bottcher teams. How Koe has gone from a team of talkers to mostly silent front end with a rookie type third who may or may not feel comfortable enough to put his 2 cents in. He described Bottcher as a guy who likes to call his own game without much team input but now has 3 strong personalities who will definitely be putting their 2 cents in. Will be interesting to see how the team dynamics shake out for both.

Describing Kennedy as a rookie type third is so wrong.

Koe was likely doing a merry jig after todays final, no more Morris chirping in his ear, ut a strong silent Tardi next season.

The care factor for koe after the 3rd end was zero. Looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there.
All of Team Gushue put on a clinic today.
Happy to se Team Einarson hang in for the win.
