There are no page games.
The next 2 games are semifinals. The winners play in the final and the losers play for bronze.

If you get a chance, watch that curling show from today. Shuster came on and basically set the record straight. The 4 + tests from Friday ALL came back negative Saturday morning.

Curling - its a funny little, slippery game, ain't it . . . ? ? ?

Brucie Mouat & his valiant Scots all curled in the low to mid 90s (top 3 guys anyways) and Putin's RCF machines were all in the low 70s to mid 70s . . . ! ! !

Yet, Mouat needed to draw full 4 with his final stone in 10 to avoid embarrassment . . . which he very calmly did... ! ! !

Sets stage for Scotland vs Sweden - - - as Nik the Monster polished off the Suisse in record time. I suspect he'll have a more difficult time with the stubborn Scots!

Just hoping for an outstanding gold medal final to take away from the weekend's covid mess!

There is something so off about this whole situation. It seems unlikely for 4 false-positive test results for such a small sample size of maybe a few hundred people in that bubble.
Alberta is doing around 12,000 tests daiĺy. If this accuracy holds province-wide, are they really returning 200 + false positives every day? An Ontario lab study found an extremely low < 20 false positives in 200,000 tests.

Someone needs to get to the bottom of this. It's a real black eye for Canada in the eyes of international curling.

And props to Team Shuster. By all appearances have handled the situation with poise, reasonableness and some good humour.

Edin's hat has black tape on it to cover an ad from someone who obviously doesn't sponsor the world's. The Swedish jerseys have black tape over an ad patch. The Scots pants have black tape on the knee ad. Bush league and cheap, buy a hat, buy some pants, get new t shirts it won't break the bank.

Great game by both teams until the 9th. Make that 1,2,3,4, 5 as Vic would say.

Very entertaining game, Edin's draw for 1 in the 1st was clutch. And credit to the Swiss, long 3 game day, already have a pile of bronzes, would've been easy to come out flat and get steamrolled but they went out and grabbed a medal. Russian skip showed he can play and Scotland proved they will be right there at the top for years to come.

Posts like these show me how much people know about the game.

I like that they did that. I would think Kevin martin would approve.

There's no money in curling. To me, wearing a sponsor should be fair game, so long as

1) It doesn't compete with an event sponsor. I mean, no Dunkin Donuts logo on the hat at the Brier.
2) It doesn't take away from the event sponsors. One would think that the event sponsor gets placement preference, and often it's left or right (or both) breast of the front of the jersey. So long as you don't put a giant sponsor emblazoned across the midsection of the jersey, like a giant Ford or Pepsi ad or something - I don't see the problem.

There's no money here. There's no guarantee of money if you try and be professional. Throw the players a bone for making it to this level. The Swedes had a bunch of sponsors though - maybe they had one more than WCF allowed? I'd be more sympathetic to "They wanted seven sponsors, and our limit was six." Certainly I'd be more on board with that - I'd be less on board with "They couldn't have their extra sponsor because we didn't get our cut." That feels like it's the IOC's thing.

Interesting that the Scottish team ripped off their knee tape as the were standing for the medal ceremony. Wonder if something will be said to them.

Good for them.
They get a good sponsor so they can get to the world championship. Once there, no advertising. What a bunch of BS.
As long as the main sponsor is all over the ice, who cares what’s on the shirts, pants, or hats of the participants.

Well, now that it was all false positives and a tainted batch of samples, and everything went crazy - that last day was ridiculous. Not fair to anyone, particularly the Swiss - who really did nothing and were forced to play three games in a day (and the first against someone they thought "had COVID") - and really not fair to Shuster or Plys (not sure which one tested "positive") and the US.

What a train wreck. I don't know who the bubble overlords are, but that's embarrassing for something like the world championship.

The US handled it well and should be commended, even if they got screwed. I guess this sort of thing was always in the cards with everything going on... but what a disaster.
