Crazy call on Dunner's last rock. Could easily have used the out turn to block both the draw and angle raise. Time management cost him quality thinking time.

I find it difficult to blame Dunstone for that last decision. That shot doesn’t seem as difficult after it was made - but that final angle raise by Bottcher was sick.

I’ve got real respect for Dunstone that I guess I had before but not like this. He made shot after shot after shot all game. Nerves of steel. Left Bottcher a hella difficult shot to win and Brendan hit it.

to say im disappointed in the final would be an understatement. i so wanted something new. nothing against bottcher or koe but its getting boring watching the same team in the final all the time

that being said i hope bottcher finally wins it this year. to reach 4 finals in a row is something not done since randy ferbey and to walk away with 4 silvers would seem cruel

A very good performance by Dunstone. Final will be interesting. Bottcher didn't have his best game in last year's final, probably good that he doesn't have a day to think about the final.

Be nice to see a team with no imports win.

Hopefully the last 5 ends will not be as boring as the first 5.
Are they trying to break another scoring record?

if this is where the game is going im not sure i want to stick around and see it. this is hands down the dullest final i've seen in years. but i guess the final they played a couple years ago should have been a clue

Sure a lot of bitching on here and other media. I just happy that curling is on before Yellowstone starts up again.

Well that three in the 7th was really unsatisfying. I don't think Bottcher will mind, but this Final has been low entertainment value and high on the influence of random chance. Not a good mix.

I hope Koe comes back with a strong 8th end.

Good for them. Very likeable team. Bottcher showed a little more intensity this Brier you could tell he wanted it extra bad. Moulding was also much more consistent. That Martin is almost the perfect lead. Great sweeper who's weight judgement is spot on and when he does speak up to recommend a shot it's usually worth looking at and if they don't go for it he doesn't politic but I notice they usually do go for it.

All those people that were bored with the game must have turned it off. They missed a boring shot by Koe that kept them in the game. Probably the best shot of the tourney. Absolutely no room for error.
Congrats to Team Bottcher, won with no imports. A true provincial representation.

Another thing that was VERY nice was no Tim Hortons cups in the free guard zone. You didn’t lose any red corner guard rocks.

Middaugh was a rabbit out of the pack - but fizzled on championship weekend.

Epping suffered the same fate!

Worlds should boil down to a 2-man pelt 'n place contest between Botch & Nik Edin.

Only thing that mildly disturbed me about Botcher is when he had a natural triple, given to him by Koe's poor rock placement in 9th end - and was almost lucky to save himself a single point.

Those are shots he makes in his sleep - with his eyes closed. All the sudden under massive pressure he failed to produce and totally snuff out the Monster Koe. Then again, almost all skips croak under pressure. Middaugh certainly did. Dunstone croaked. McEwen always croaks. Epping, Cotter, Gunner, too!

This week Gushue made a fool of himself.

Koe & Bottcher are the ones who croak the least. Thats why they were the ones duking it out in the FINAL.

dont underestimate mouat, decruz or shuster at worlds. the 3 of them will have a say in who medals and could take out edin and or bottcher. id say those 5 are about equal

as much as its good to see bottcher not lose 4 in a row it sucks that the ultimate deciding moment was a picked rock in the 8th end. kevin would have at least limited alberta to 2 but thats just bad luck and who knows how it would have playd out if he that rock hadnt picked. you never want to see a game decided that way

Picked rock or not, I think Bottcher would have won. The ice was tricky Koe’s team needed to remind him about positive rotation and they needed to keep cleaning. He looked pretty irritated with them near the end “...make a decision!”. A message to them? Bottcher remained calm & positive with his team...handled their input very well.
