She's matching Rachel shot for shot - not a particularly hi-percentage game but obviously the best TV match thus far.
Should go down to last brick; maybe an extra end . . . ! ! !
Well despite a valiant effort, Team Homan prevailed!

The Tiny Tornado, Laura Crocker just ran outta gas vs. Team Homan last nite. They had Homan in their sites, but unlike Kerri Einarson they couldn't complete the disposal.
In the end, Homan's superior conditioning and mental focus overcame some half-shots and rare misses by Rachel.
Kate Cameron, Crocker's 3rd is a fierce and intense warrior but seems to always come up short when faced with rigid competition. Cameron looked downright panicky as the game wound down, offering little in the way of insight or strategy to Crocker.
Lets see if this loss blows up Team Crocker. I still think they'll win at least 1, maybe 2 of their remaining 4 games in the RR and qualify to continue!

Rizzo sounds irritated with Galusha...I think she should be throwing last rocks...

100 plus other curlers who would be better than Rizzo and have Scotties experience. Did Kerry's Ontario coach push for Rizzo to be asked? Just a really strange choice.

Rizzo was the top leftover when Sensational Sherry Middaugh hung up her broom 'n sliders!
Rizzo is a typical field 3rd, she'll make some shots, she'll miss some shots, she's not a particularly great strategist and her key shot ratio has been very low over her active years of competition.
When Galusha needed a player she was really needy. Margot Flemming will be a very good player, but she isn't quite ready to step up - and Galusha knew it.
You're not gonna get a Emm Miskew, Kaitlyn Lawes or Val Sweeting at this point (top 3rds) and other 3rd players like Kate Cameron, Selena Ngeogvan, etc. are unspectacular thirds already committed to good teams.
The natural pick for Galusha would have been Amber Holland or Stefanie Lawton from Sask'n - really good vets who know how to roll with the punches. Holland or Lawton would have been far better picks than JoJo Rizzo.
When all is said and done Rizzo will finish somewhere near the top of the bottom 9 of the 18 teams entered, percentage-wise!

Jones vs Anderson - FEATURE???
Wonder if TSN tall foreheads will continue its "Avoid JJ" theme this afternoon.
Only game worth televising features the 2 oldest skips in the event (other than the Nunavut rental). S Anderson (56) & J Jones (47).
Watching Anderson play is like watching paint dry but Anderson makes just enough shots to torment an anxiety prone Jones who definitely wants to avoid like the dickens a 2nd loss so early in the event.
It should be the FEATURE MATCH - but TSN is obviously thinking about stopping Jones from more airtime!!!

Ludicrous. TSN has a lot of things to improve on but they know that there are a lot of Jones fans out there and there is no way they are somehow deciding to keep her off the air.

Jones is one of 5 or 6 teams who can interest & excite audiences. In her prime she was perhaps Curling's #1 TV attraction - up there with Don Duguid, Rod Hunter, Russ Howard, Alvln Hackner, Rick Folk, PeeWee Pickering, Jeff Stoughton, Sandra Schmirler, etc. It was always a wing-ding when JJ's show came to town.
Now, her increasing inability to fulfill her excellent strategy always seems to bite her in the behind, more often than not.
With 18 teams in the field it comes down to how to get all the fawns and non-contenders on the air at least once. Thats not a bad thing for curling development in traditional non-winning curling markets. By tomorrow I suspect TSN will be forced to showcase draws with only the following - Jones, Homan, Carey, Walker, Zacharias, Brown, Birt, St. Georges - unless there's a massive pile up for the last contending spots in the RR - then TSN will obviously be forced to show that type of match.

I'm watching the SK MB game and couldn't believe it when I heard Vic say Jones' stats were so great. I checked it out and now I see why. The last shot where she called a split for 2 and totally missed the called shot and nosed it for a blank, was given 4/4. How do you give a perfect score for missing the shot completely? At most a mercy 1/4. Should be zero.

Exactly!
She blanked the end by missing her called shot . . .
Jones is still working her pitti-patti act and its growing old like the dickens.
She needs to buckle up and start calling a better game, read the ice better and get a disinterested Kaitlyn back in the game!

6-time Canadian champion Jennifer Jones was painful to watch today.
There were no signs of past glory. Same name, same demeanor, a bit less bossy.
But the shots simply aren't there anymore. Worse yet, she's out of sorts reading ice and line.
Can't quite write her off yet. If she gets into a deadhouse game to advance, you never know - but I just can't see her squirming past lionesses like Homan, Einarson, even Carey (when she's on) or the Z-Girls.
Jones and Co. are no longer Curling's FANTASTIC FOUR. In fact, a waffling, plodding Jones now reminds me of the painful demise of Connie Laliberte who suddenly couldn't make shots to save her life during her last couple years on the scene!

Well Joss missed quite a few and as for Kaitlyn, she looked like she wanted to be somewhere else. Somethings up with this team...

Lisa must be wondering "what the hell have I got myself into?" with this Jones squad.
Kaitlyn is definitely out of it. Jones is beyond feeble with her calls and untimely bails. Rock placement was always her bugaboo - now its beyond painful.
TSN tall foreheads are surely meeting and telling their floor directors NOT to televise her games unless its a tie-breaker or she manages to slither into playoffs.

3 time Canadian Sr champ, 2 time World Sr champ, Scotties silver medalist, etc etc etc. Drew to the pot after 6 curlers had blown shots along that same path. Told her curlers to ignore their stop watches because she was creative in her delivery that time. Experience. Demeanor. Good win Sherry. Have at 'em.

Great to see QC do well, but coach Dad better reign in Skip Laurie before she is caught up in the hype. No extra interviews etc...

Its been a long time since quebec has had a womens team to get excited about but she's here. i didnt think that she'd be ready here for her first time but here she is 3-1 and with manitoba, british columbia and wild card out of the way they should be able to win enough games to qualify now for championship pool
laurie really does seriously remind me of marie-france larouche and dordi nordby. the way they'd bounce all around the house trying to figure things out. so full of energy. she's fun
im glad saskatchewan bounced back from that opening loss. 2-1 but should be 3-0. they're playing well and hopefully will get out of the group

Actually ML, not to be nit picky, it was Paul McCartney. Google the James Corden carpool karaoke show where they go to Paul's childhood home. Touching story.

FYI Eby and Eddy are 2 different people, 2 different teams., 2 different territories. Get a mitt and get in the game

Peterson & Last Rock Laura in a bit of an entertaining flub-fest tonite. YIKES!
Some questions:
1) Does Laura freeze when faced with basic winning shots?
2) Just how over-rated is Kate Cameron, Laura's 3rd?
3) How many botched shots and whizzes can Team Peteski toss and still win a curling game vs. a Top 8 Canadian team?
Beth is one fidgety curler, reminds me of Mark "The Scoreboard" Olson during his little reign of terror as Kerry Burtnyk's 3rd in the early to mid 80s. She's intense but not much of a team behind her. A spare in Brittany Tran, a quality but unspectacular 2nd in Kat Doerksen and the very average (some would say below average) 3rd in Jenna Loder.
