Only Hunkin from last year is still on the team, Streifel is new 3rd I think Lawton is not playing this year.

Streifel at 3rd is not a bad idea. She was kicking around the top of Sask'n ladies curling for years but was badged by her inability to complete medium-tough to tough shots in key situations.

Bit of a glamor curler so she should fit in with Silvernagle, so long as she can play tough under duress tossing 3rd stones . . . ! ! !

Thumbs up The old fashioned way, they EARN it

I'm not sure I like the idea of CC "gifting " spots to teams that don't EARN their way there. I totally understand provinces cancelling playoffs due to covid and sending last year's winners who EARNED it. But giving free slots to popular teams that did not is troubling. That may help in the ratings, which proves that this whole charade is all about the almighty dollar, damned the health concerns. I do hate to be negative and cynical, BUT, why bother with this at all, other than for the money?

Its morphing from a brier to a slam

Pretty sure in 5 years when the old viewers are gone the audience will insist on some new blood and not watch the same 6 mens and 5 womens teams 10 x a yearlike we do

Although by then tv will be showing 15 min of repetitive commercials and 15 minutes of amos and andy so we will prob watchbotcher v epping. Every weekend

Guessing the worlds will be gone by 2025 - arent 6 teams now and they playin canada

I agree Fresca, its becoming a slam. There is the rumor that CC wants to turn the canada cup into the national championship, which tells you all you need to know about the direction things are going.

Definitely a slam. While in the so-called bubble we should also hold a KRAZY KURLING KOMPETITION - - -

Feature matches:

Fresca w/ Benny Hebert vs. Dr. Fauci w/ Brent Laing

Dr. Resby Coutts (w/ Brian Pallister) vs. Donald J Scump (w/ Kayleigh McEnany)

Manitoba Legend (w/ Gordon Hudson) vs. Barack Obama (w/ Jill Officer)

Blackwater 4 vs. Ferbey 5

Something nice about having 5 or 6 teams of amateurs in the field

Worse is that the curling pros have such a tight clique of 40 year old curlers with sponsors with a guaranteed point accumulation , it is virtually impossible to crack the circuit

A few western provinces have abt 8 22 year olds team that will eventually replace koe , mcewan, cotter, gushue , howard , jacobs, etc

Danger is they get married , have kids, and get a good job and retire from curling as they have in the past

Silly to be changing teams when there is NO curling - but im guessing lots of changes in 2022 when a few younger players figure joining forces is a better route to the olympics. - like it has in the past.

Yes the forseeable future of curling is half a dozen top men's and women's teams dominating all events like it is now.
Even junior curling is going that way. In MB if you are decent curler you don't play with your friends at the neighborhood club, you go to one of the 2-3 clubs who have premiere junior program and get put on a potential super team. This is going to hurt in the long run as the middling curlers will drop out and never become dues paying club curlers who are THE most important part of curling.
I personally am finding the same names playing in the quarter, semi and finals of every bonspiel to be boring which is why the Brier and Scotties are more interesting. Sure you can pick the standings pretty much before the event begins but at least along the way there is the odd upset and near upset to make things interesting.

I feel bad for Tardi. They had a good chance last year but now have no chance this year. Played well at Kelowna and Penticton. Too bad they are probably done for the season.

you dont think theres any chance BC send them as their reps to the brier?

on a side note it must be nice to be one of the chosen ones like mcewen and koe or bottcher and know that , even in the event your province does not chose to send you this year CC has your back and will likely insert you into the event anyway

16-2

World jr hockey score

Turned it on but didnt watch long

Turned to music after 1stperiod

Shud cancel tsn monday if bell answers phone , 5 years of technical difficulties wont allow me todowngrade on internet

Should cancel bell $300 / m

- not much different than watching same 20 curlers for 20 years - make that 16 curlers , too many repetitive commercials to show the lead rocks

Have 10 tvs $50 each

The Botch Brothers get the spot. The Koe Monster will arrive for the play-in spot.

Laura Walker the women's rep!

I suspect there will be no play in and CC will give spots to the top pros, Koe, Howard, McEwen. Fleury on the women's side plus teams from AB and Ont.

I think you may be right unless losing play-in participants agree to remain in the bubble after being bested in the play-in.

it doesnt really matter. even in a bubble things can go wrong easily. the risk they would be taking playing provincials is the same they are taking playing in a bubble. even if its reduced the risk is still there. in other sports that did the bubble thing there have still been cases sneak in.

yeah, i'd agree with these picks. i imagine that Casey Scheidegger would be added in as well. through "wildcard" spot. Chelsea Carey likely would be too if she had a team. Id love to see Tardi or someone young get put in but he's not a top team yet
