Can Anyone stop Homan?
Ottawa's Rachel Homan continues their dominant run this week at the Kioti National in St. John's, Newfoundland, opening against Winnipeg's Chelsea Carey. By Connor Simms, #1 world ranked Rachel Homan, with Tracy Fleury at third, Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes on the front end, continues to dominate the World Curling Tour (WCT). Homan has had an impressive season with a 33-2 record. She is aiming to secure back-to-back Grand Slam victories after adding her 16th career Grand Slam title at the Co-op Canadian Open earlier this month. Her only two losses came in the first Grand Slam of the season: in the A-side qualifier to Stefania Constantini of Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, and in the final to Kerri Einerson from Gimli, Manitoba. Having qualified for the last seven Slam finals and winning five, Homan continues solidifying her legacy in the sport. Homan takes to the ice against Carey at 6:30pm Newfoundland Time (4pm Eastern Time), with their game Wednesday against Christina Black (Halifax, NS) going at Noon NT on Wednesday. On Thursday at 8:30am NT, Homan face Constantini, and on Friday, they finishes the round-robin against Sweden's Isabella Wrana at 4pm NT. All the round-robin action will happen until Friday, with the playoffs happening on Saturday. Then, the finals will be the lone games on Sunday. |
