Brad Gushue will compete at the Henderson Metal Fall Classic in Sault Ste Marie in October. Gushue, with Sault Ste Marie native E.J. Harnden in the lineup at second, will certainly be a local favourite as the St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador team will be competing for the first time at the event. Soo natives Ryan Harnden and Brad Jacobs each bring their respective teams to the event, with Ryan leading the way for Winnipeg's Matt Dunstone and Jacobs taking the helm of the Alberta-based squad formerly skipped by Brendan Bottcher. The reigning Canadian Champions return with their lineup intact, featuring Mark Nichols at third and Geoff Walker at lead. Founded in 1954, Henderson Metal offers a complete range of HVAC products and services to clients in the Sault Ste Marie district, including regions as far as Schreiber and Sudbury. KIOTI Dealers of Ontario resumes its role as presenting sponsor for the event. Every sheet will streamed on YouTube by CurlingZone through their Curling Stadium platform. Americans John Shuster and Korey Dropkin, Joel Retornaz of Italy, Yusuke Morozumi and Shinya Abe of Japan join the three Soo-linked teams. Canadian entries featuring Kevin Koe, Mike McEwen and Reid Carruthers all highlight a strong field: Henderson Metal Soo Curlers Fall Classic Teams Dunstone topped Retornaz 8-7 in an extra end in last year's edition. The action begins October 17th from the YNCU Curling Centre in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Tickets will be available through the Soo Curlers website in September: www.soocurlers.com/ticket-sales/ |
