Five and 0 on the event and 14-1 so for on the season for Brad Gushue with his lone loss of the season being to Reid Carruthers at the PointsBet Invitational. Gushue with Mark Nichols at third, E.J. Harnden at second and Geoff Walker at lead won the last Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling event two weeks ago in North Bay. Gushue has continued to roll through the group stages, where they won 9-3 over Switzerland's Michael Bruenner, then 8-4 over Scotland's Ross Whyte. Gushue doubled up Reid Carruthers 6-3 and the set off two straight winning efforts against Scotland's Bruce Mouat, 7-3 in the round-robin and 8-4 in Saturday's quarterfinals. Gushue faces off against Niklas Edin, with the Swedish skip holding a 23-12 career advantage against Gushue. Gushue has won the last two, however, including a 5-4 decision in the final of the Boost National two weeks ago.. Edin also comes into the semifinals undefeated, posting a 25-5 record so far on the season. Calgary's Kevin Koe will play Matt Dunstone of Winnipeg in the other semifinal matchup.
