Only two remain in the women's draw of the 2022 BOOST National: number three in the world Team Kerri Einarson and number five Team Silvana Tirinzoni. Both teams prevailed over tough opponents in Saturday night's semifinal games to qualify for the event final.

The Einarson rink of Kerri Einarson, Val Sweeting, Shannon Birchard, and Briane Harris took two in the eigth end to stop number one seeds Team Satsuki Fujisawa of Japan 8-5. After giving up one, the Gimli team was quick to put a three on the board, which they added to with a steal of one in the third.

After trading deuces, Team Fujisawa got themselves within one with a perfect angle raise to remove an Einarson rock, scoring two. However, in eight, Kerri Einarson just had to make one go away in order to advance to the final, which she made no mistake of.

Switzerland's Tirinzoni rink of Alina Patz, Silvana Tirinzoni, Carole Howald, and Briar Hurlimann also played a strong team in Manitoba's Kaitlyn Lawes. The Swiss were unfazed, however, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after the first end and extending it to 5-1 after five.

Lawes was able to count three in the sixth to get within one, but it wasn't enough as Team Tirinzoni got two more in the seventh to go back ahead by three. In the eighth, Kaitlyn Lawes attempted a triple takeout to bring a three into play but was only able to count one.

The head-to-head record between Einarson and Tirinzoni is evenly matched with the Swiss skip having a slight 11-10 advantage. In their last eight meetings though, Team Einarson has only managed to win one game while Team Tirinzoni has swiped the other seven.

Kerri Einarson is playing for her second BOOST National and fourth Grand Slam title in Sunday's final while Silvana Tirinzoni is looking for her first National and third Slam title overall.

The BOOST National women's final gets underway at 11:00 AM Eastern Time on Sportsnet and Sportsnet NOW from the North Bay Memorial Gardens in North Bay, Ontario.
