Rylan Kleiter of Saskatoon won 6-5 over Jeremy Harty of Okotoks to remain undefeated in Saskatoon. Kleiter and his team of Joshua Mattern, Trevor Johnson and Matthieu Taillon finished on Friday evening's draw with a last rock shot to the button for the victory. Needing full four-foot for the win, sweeper Johnson and Taillon went end to end to get Kleiter's final shot into scoring position. Kleiter opened with two points in the first end, with Harty responding back with two points of their own in the second end. After getting forced a single in the third end, Kleiter dropped two points in the fourth end and trailed for the first time in the game at 4-3. After a blank in the fifth end, Kleiter got the lead back with two points in the sixth end, then forced Harty to a single in the seventh end setting up the last shot for the win. Harty dropped to 0-2 in the competition. In other draw 4 action, Colton Lott of Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba won 6-2 over Matthew McCrady of New Westminster, BC, leaving both teams at 1-1. Tyler Tardi of Langley, BC, improved to 2-0 with a 6-2 win over Edmonton's Karsten Sturmay, now at 1-1. Winnipeg's Braden Calvert improved to 1-1 with a 10-6 win over Brady Scharback of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Men return to the ice at 8:30 am Mountain Time at the Nutana Curling Club with the final set of round-robin games. |
