Winnipeg's Jennifer Jones starts with two wins as their 5-player team focuses on the Olympic season. Jones with Kaitlyn Lawes at third, Jocelyn Peterman, Lisa Weagle and Dawn McEwen on the front end formed a full 5-player team last season when Lisa Weagle became available. "We're a full 5-player team," said Jones when asked about the arrangement. "Lisa is a full member of our team." Jones opened the weekend at the Oakville Curling Club with an 8-1 win over Ottawa's Lauren Mann, then won 7-1 over Lauren Horton of Montreal. This weekend, it's Weagle on the bench in Oakville. PEI's Suzanna Birt, Hollie Duncan of Woodstock, and Tracy Fleury of East St. Paul, Man. all sit at 2-0 in the 15 teams round-robin event. The top 4 seeds will advance directly to the playoffs, while anyone finishing 2-2 will have a shot in tomorrow's extra qualifying round. USA's Jamie Sinclair, curling out of Charlotte, North Carolina, is at 2-1 following an 11-0 win over Mississauga's Jestyn Murphy, who's currently at 1-1. Lawes, Peterman and Weagle represented Canada in Curling Night in America in August, adding Selena Njegovan of Team Fleury to the lineup for the event. Curling Night in America is a made-for-television event that USA Curling has been hosting for NBC, as they will show the games weekly beginning September 19th.
