The duo from Sudbury stormed back from a 5-0 deficit to win the Final over Ottawa's Brunton/Lyon-Hatcher. Keira McLaughlin and Tanner Horgan, a last-minute addition to the event, ended up undefeated as the lone team standing Sunday at the Oakville Curling Club. McLaughlin/Horgan started with hammer, but Kira Brunton and Brett Lyon-Hatcher opened the scoring by stealing singles in the first and second ends, then three more in the third end for the early lead. McLaughlin/Horgan got on the board in the fourth end with two points, then never ceded the board again, stealing one in the fifth end, two in the sixth, and then singles in the seventh and eighth ends for the 7-5 win. McLaughlin/Horgan advanced to the final with a 6-5 win over Emilie and Robert Desjardins (Saguenay, Que.), after McLaughlin made a long angle runback for 3 in the final end.
