![]() Kayla Skrlik (photo: Anil Mungal/GSOC) has earned a berth in Sunday afternoon's final with a 8-5 win over Robin Silvernagle in the 1v2 page playoff game Saturday night in Calgary. By Meredith McCullum Kalya Skrlik and her team out of the Garrison Curling Club in Calgary, are one win away from a trip to Thunder Bay for the 2025 Scottie's Tournament of Hearts. Skrlik - backed by lead Geri-Lynn Ramsay, second Ashton Skrlik, and third Margot Flemming - won the B Event of the triple-knockout Alberta Provincial Championship in Rimbey, making her the #2 seed going into the page playoffs. Skrlik faced #1 seed Robyn Silvernagle Saturday evening in the 1v2 page playoff, a rematch from earlier in the week. Silvernagle started with hammer thanks to her better record. Silvernagle scored 2 to start the game, and Skrlik took a single point, followed by a steal in the third and fourth ends to tie the game up. The teams traded deuces in the fifth and sixth ends before Skrlik secured a huge steal of 2 in the seventh to swing the momentum in her favour. Silvernagle fought back with a single in the ninth to pull within one, but another deuce for Skrlik in the ninth was enough to seal the 8-5 victory. Alberta Women's Provincial Championships 1v2 Page Playoff: Skrlik vs Silvernagle Skrlik now awaits the winner of the semifinal between Robyn Silvernagle and Nicky Kaufman taking place Sunday afternoon at 2pm. The Championship Final will take place at 6pm with the winner going on to represent Alberta at the 2025 Scottie's Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario from February 14-23. Skrlik started the week with a 7-5 win over Michelle Hartwell. Skrlik then lost 12-6 Thursday afternoon against Robyn Silvernagle, moving her down to the B Event. It would be all wins for Skrlik from there, as she cruised through B Event play with wins over Myla Plett, Janais DeJong, and Gracelyn Richards. Kayla Skrlik after her Page Playoff win |
