By: Cameron Sallaj Laurie St-Georges will skip La Belle Province for a fifth straight time at the upcoming Scotties Tournament of Hearts, going undefeated to claim her third career provincial women's title. After a perfect week at the Centre Sportif Mistouk in Alma, the team went up against 2019 champion Emilia Gagne in Sunday's championship game. It was a quick start for St-Georges and her team of Jamie Sinclair, Emily Riley and Lisa Weagle who scored two in the first end. They then stole a single in the third to go ahead by three and take early control. After Gagne got one back in the fourth, the defending champions added to their total with another deuce in the five to go up 5-1. Gagne then counted another single in the sixth to cut into the lead, however, still trailed by three without the hammer. Another two points for Team St-Georges put them ahead 7-2 with only three ends left. The team, curling out of the Glenmore and Laval-sur-le-Lac clubs, then stole singles in both eight and nine to secure the win by a final score of 9-2. REPLAY: Quebec Women's Final - St-Georges vs Gagne: St-Georges first burst onto the national scene at the 2021 Scotties when she was appointed to represent Quebec.
