They took on Germany's Marc Muskatewitz in the quarterfinals, starting with the hammer due to their unbeaten round-robin record. Jacobs was fast to the big scoring, making a lightweight takeout for four points in the first end. Muskatewitz grabbed two points back, making a hit and stick. In the third end, Jacobs missed an opportunity for his two, rolling off the tapped stone too far and settling for their single. Muskatewitz struggled to find a deuce in the fourth end, settling for a hit-and-stick for their single point. Jacobs was forced to his single in the fifth, making a hit-and-stick. Muskatewitz was forced to another hit-and-stick for their single in the sixth end. Jacobs tried an angle hit toll both of his stones to the eight-foot for a couple. They were only able to roll one in to get his single point. Ultimately, Muskatewitz ran out of stones for the 7-4 victory. Jacobs finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. Jacobs defeated Northern Ontario John Epping 5-3 in their opening game, then won 10-4 against Minnesota's Korey Dropkin and 7-4 against Saskathewan's Mike McEwen. Jacobs won 7-3 against Sweden's Niklas Edin in their final qualifying round match. In the semifinals, they will face Bruce Mouat on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). They played Mouat once this season, in the Kioti National final, but they lost. In the other semifinal, Manitoba's Matt Dunstone is set to face Scotland's Ross Whyte.
