CHAMPION: Thiesse/Dropkin Wins Saville Mixed Doubles Classic

Cory Thiesse/Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) won 8-3 over Serena Gray-Withers/Victor Pietrangelo (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Saville Mixed Doubles Classic, held October 31 - November 2 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Thiesse/Dropkin won 9-6 over Miyu Ueno/Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the Saville Mixed Doubles Classic in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-2 over Gracelyn Richards/Zach Davies (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.

Thiesse/Dropkin finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thiesse/Dropkin defeated Cheryl Damen/Tyler Van Amsterdam (Calgary, AB) 9-1, then won 9-3 against Alberta's Alex Ashton/Kris Gira and 7-6 against Seonyeong Kim/Yeongseok Jeong (Gangwon, KOR). Thiesse/Dropkin won 5-3 against Ueno/Yamaguchi in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Saville Mixed Doubles Classic Championship title, Thiesse/Dropkin earned 24.750 world rankings points along with the $2,750CDN first prize cheque. For week 15 of the event schedule, Thiesse/Dropkin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
