Sam Mooibroek (Whitby, ON) won 6-4 over Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the U25 NextGen Classic, held August 26 - 28, 2025 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Mooibroek won 7-5 over Calan MacIsaac (Truro, NS) in the semifinals of the 2025 U25 NextGen Classic in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;

Mooibroek finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mooibroek lost 8-3 to Simon Perry (St. John's, NL), then responded with a 6-4 win over Zach Davies (Edmonton, AB). Mooibroek won 7-6 against Jace Freeman (Virden, MB), then won 7-3 against Bradley Moser (Saskatoon, SK) and 5-3 against Jayden King (London, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the U25 NextGen Classic Championship title, Mooibroek earned 24.750 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 161.500 total points. Mooibroek ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 24.750 points earned so far this season.
