Miyu Ueno (Karuizawa, JPN) won 7-1 over Kelsey Powell (Vernon, BC) in the Final of the Kamloops Crown of Curling, held October 24 - 26 at the Kamloops Curling Club in Kamloops, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Ueno won 6-2 over Mahra Harris (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals of the Kamloops Crown of Curling in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada;
Ueno finished 4-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ueno defeated Sarah Wark (Abbotsford, BC) 6-1, then won 6-5 against Kayla Wilson (Kamloops, BC) and 6-5 against Powell. Ueno won 9-2 against Elyssa Bingham (New Westminster, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Kamloops Crown of Curling Championship title, Ueno earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque. Ueno move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of -1.031 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 22nd overall with 131.225 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Ueno ranks 26th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 67.100 points earned so far this season.
