To advance to the championship game, Gosgens won 7-5 over Jacob Libbus (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the Saville Grand Prix in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-3 over Ryan Jacques (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the Saville Grand Prix in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
Gosgens finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gosgens defeated James Ballance (Okotoks/Edmonton, AB) 8-3, then won 8-2 against Van Amsterdam and 8-1 against Kevin Tym (Edmonton, AB). Gosgens won 8-6 against Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Saville Grand Prix Championship title, Gosgens earned 29.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque.
