Black finished 6-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Black defeated Mitchell 9-3, then won 7-4 against Mary Myketyn-Driscoll (Halifax, NS) and 8-3 against Nova Scotia's Rebecca Regan. Black won 10-3 against Tanya Hilliard (Halifax, NS), then won 10-3 against Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax , NS) and 9-4 against Allyson MacNutt (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Ocean Contractors Nova Scotia Womens Curling Championship Championship title, Black earned 11.250 world rankings points, remaining in 17th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 3.937 after improving upon their best so far this season. Black ranks 16th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 145.750 points earned so far this season.
