Marlee Powers/Luke Saunders (Halifax, NS) finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Powers/Saunders defeated CJ Jackson/Matthew McCrady (New Westminster, BC) 11-3, then went on to lose 7-3 against Kadriana Lott/Colton Lott (Winnipeg Beach, MB). Powers/Saunders responded with a 10-6 win over Nicole Westlund Stewart/Tyler Stewart (Thunder Bay, NO). Powers/Saunders won 10-4 against Emilia Gagne/Pierre-Luc Morissette (Quebec, QC), then won 10-2 against Veronique Bouchard/Jean-Francois Charest (Saguenay, QC). Powers/Saunders went on to lose 9-6 against Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Barrie, ON). Powers/Saunders responded with a 9-0 win over Paige Papley/Evan Van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, Powers/Saunders take home 55.000 world rankings points. For week 34 of the event schedule, Powers/Saunders did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 49th place on the World Ranking Standings with 37.500 total points. Powers/Saunders ranks 49th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 37.500 points earned so far this season.
