Michael Brunner (Bern, SUI) won 8-4 over Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) in the Final of the WCT Take-Out Trophy, held December 20 - 22, 2024 in Basel, Switzerland. To advance to the championship game, Brunner won 6-2 over Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2024 WCT Take-Out Trophy in Basel, Switzerland; and won 1-0 over Yves Stocker (Oberwallis, SUI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 WCT Take-Out Trophy in Basel, Switzerland;
Brunner finished 4-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brunner defeated Gian Wildhaber (Aarau, SUI) 11-3, then won 8-0 against Stocker and 6-1 against Kyle Waddell (Stirling, SCO). Brunner went on to lose 7-2 against Ramsfjell. Brunner lost 7-5 to Hoesli where Brunner responded with a 9-3 win over Alberto Pimpini (Pinerolo, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the WCT Take-Out Trophy Championship title, Brunner earned 30.000 world rankings points along with the $12,769CDN first prize cheque. For week 21 of the event schedule, Brunner did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Brunner ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
