Glenn Venance (Penticton, BC) lost 10-8 to Cameron de Jong (Victoria, BC) in the Final of the BC Men's Curling Championships, Presented by Best Western, held January 20 - 25 at the George Preston Recreation Centre in Langley Twp, Canada.
Venance finished 4-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Venance defeated Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) 6-1, then won 6-3 against Brent Pierce (New Westminister, BC) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 5-4 against Jared Kolomaya (Richmond, BC). Venance responded with a 6-4 win over Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 7-3 against Connor Deane (New Westminster, BC) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the BC Men's Curling Championships, Presented by Best Western, Venance take home 8.250 world rankings points. Venance move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 6 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 64th overall with 53.758 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Venance ranks 67th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.625 points earned so far this season.
