To advance to the championship game, Maeda won 4-3 over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2024 Wakkanai Midori Challenge Cup in Hokkaido, Japan;
 
Maeda finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Maeda lost 6-5 to Abe, then responded with a 8-3 win over Koki Ogiwara (Sapporo, JPN). Maeda won 8-5 against Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN), then won 12-2 against Soo-Hyuk Kim (Gyeongbuk, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Wakkanai Midori Challenge Cup, Maeda take home 13.750 world rankings points. For week 2 of the event schedule, Maeda did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Maeda ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
