Manuel finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Manuel defeated Andrew Gibson (Halifax, NS) 7-6, then won 7-5 against Logan Ede (Saskatoon, SK). Manuel went on to lose 5-3 against Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS). Manuel responded with a 7-4 win over Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Dave Jones Stanhope Simpson Insurance Mayflower Cashspiel Championship title, Manuel earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $4,700CDN first prize cheque.
