Corrie Huerlimann (Zug, SUI) won 8-6 over Ikue Kitazawa (Nagano, JPN) in the Final of the Abbotsford Curling Classic, held November 29 - December 1 at the Abbotsford Curling Club in Abbotsford, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Huerlimann won 7-4 over Kristen Ryan (Maple Ridge, BC) in the semifinals of the Abbotsford Curling Classic in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada;
Huerlimann finished 3-1 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Huerlimann lost 6-4 to Chelsea Taylor (Vancouver, BC), then responded with a 6-5 win over Dailene Pewarchuk (Victoria, BC). Huerlimann won 7-4 against Kitazawa to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 7-2 against Shiella Cowan (Maple Ridge, BC) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Abbotsford Curling Classic Championship title, Huerlimann earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $5,500CDN first prize cheque. Huerlimann move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 9.375 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 40th overall with 86.438 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Huerlimann ranks 57th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 36.000 points earned so far this season.
