Tori Koana/Go Aoki (Yamanasshi, JPN) won 9-2 over Nancy Martin/Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the Aly Jenkins Mixed Doubles Memorial, held October 3 - 6 at the Martensville Curling Club in Martensville, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Koana/Aoki won 8-5 over Chiaki Matsumura/Yasumasa Tanida (Nagano/Hokkaido, JPN) in the semifinals of the Aly Jenkins Mixed Doubles Memorial in Martensville, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 7-1 over Lisa Weagle/John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the Aly Jenkins Mixed Doubles Memorial in Martensville, Saskatchewan, Canada;
Koana/Aoki finished 3-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koana/Aoki defeated Christie Gamble/Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK) 8-1, then won 11-4 against Jill Springer/Garret Springer (Regina, SK). Koana/Aoki went on to lose 7-6 against Martin/Laycock. Koana/Aoki responded with a 7-3 win over Randine Baker/Tanner Lott (Selkirk, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Aly Jenkins Mixed Doubles Memorial Championship title, Koana/Aoki earned 26.250 world rankings points along with the $2,400CDN first prize cheque. For week 10 of the event schedule, Koana/Aoki did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Koana/Aoki ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
