Jason Montgomery (Victoria, BC) won 8-2 over Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC) in the Final of the King Cash Spiel, held October 20 - 22, 2023 at the Golden Ears Curling Club in Maple Ridge, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Montgomery won 8-4 over Jared Kolomaya (Richmond, BC) in the semifinals of the 2023 King Cash Spiel in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-5 over Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 King Cash Spiel in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada;
Montgomery finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Montgomery defeated 's Jeff Guignard 8-3, then won 6-5 against Jongduk Park (Gangwon, KOR) and 8-1 against Nicholas Connolly (Seattle, WA) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the King Cash Spiel Championship title, Montgomery earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque. Montgomery move up 29 spots after posting a net gain of 8 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 108th overall with 27.500 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Montgomery ranks 87th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 11.250 points earned so far this season.
