Beth Peterson (Winnipeg, MB) won 7-5 over Honoka Sasaki (Kitami, JPN) in the Final of the MCT Challenge, held September 8 - 10, 2023 at the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Peterson won 6-3 over Asuka Kanai (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2023 MCT Challenge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
Peterson finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson defeated Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB) 6-2, then went on to lose 7-3 against Rachel Kaatz (Winnipeg, MB). Peterson responded with a 7-6 win over Kanai in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the MCT Challenge Championship title, Peterson earned 15.000 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 36th place overall with 104.813 total points. Peterson ranks 35th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.000 points earned so far this season.
