Shuster went on to lose 11-4 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA). Shuster lost 9-6 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN). Shuster lost 12-9 to Yannick Schwaller (Geneva, SUI) where Shuster responded with a 12-4 win over Sixten Totzek (Baden Baden, GER). Shuster won 8-3 against Anton Hood (Naseby, NZL) in their final qualifying round match.
