Kalk/MacAlpine went on to lose 9-6 against Christa Shulman/Rodney Ouellette (Edmonton, AB). Kalk/MacAlpine lost 7-6 to Alberta's Catherine Clifford/Desmond Young where Kalk/MacAlpine responded with a 8-4 win over Broderson/Kleibrink. Kalk/MacAlpine won 8-5 against Paige Papley/Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Alberta Best Western Mixed Doubles Championship Championship title, Kalk/MacAlpine earned 15.000 world rankings points.
