Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) won 7-5 over Asuka Kanai (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship, held January 28 - February 5, 2023 in Kitami, Japan.
Fujisawa finished 6-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fujisawa defeated Kanai 15-4, then won 18-0 against Riho Zaikan (Hioshima, JPN). Fujisawa went on to lose 8-6 against Momoha Tabata (Sapporo, JPN). Fujisawa responded with a 10-2 win over Rin Suzuki (Aomori, JPN). Fujisawa won 7-4 against Yumi Suzuki (Tokyo, JPN), then won 8-6 against Ikue Kitazawa (Nagano, JPN) and 9-7 against Honoka Sasaki (Kitami, JPN). Fujisawa went on to lose 8-3 against Miori Nakamura (Aomori, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship Championship title, Fujisawa earned 33.750 world rankings points, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -8.669 after improving upon their best so far this season. Fujisawa ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 262.000 points earned so far this season.
